Topic: Creating employment opportunities for youth entering the labor market

Creating employment for the youth entering the labor market is a task that must be done in order to diminish the unemployment rate. It must also be done to assure future well being, because the youth will be the future businessman. There are not many jobs available now, and there will be fewer jobs in the future due to the growth of the population.  These high levels of unemployment are resulting in severe problems for the countries al around the world, especially in the ones with low economy. The majority of the young people (16-23 years old) entering the labor market do not have the education, nor the skills to do productive work. The governments of the countries are not the only one dealing with this problem. This topic has also concerned the United Nations and some minor organizations. ILO and ECOSOC are some committees inside the U.N. helping increase job opportunities for the young.

Spain is one of the countries with more youth unemployment in the whole world; therefore Spain is in favor of creating more jobs and decreasing the youth unemployment rate. According to a statistic made by the website epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu 22.8% of Spaniards between the ages 15-24 were unemployed in November 2011. Spain youth unemployment has been growing dramatically in the past years. There must be over millions of jobs opportunities created just to fulfill the unemployed people just in Spain. One of the major reasons of Spain’s unemployment rate is its bad education. They only have 8 universities between the top 500 universities of the world. Spain must start creating job opportunities or the country will be passing through rough times.

My delegation proposes to the United Nations and to other delegations to increase public works in order to build more jobs for the youth, which will be the future in our world. Another solution that my delegation proposes is to give preferences to the youth entering the labor market instead of the old looking for a job. Another solution, which is not highly recommended, but it can be helpful to reduce unemployment rate is to make public institutions to raise money to go to the labor market to create more jobs than normal. Creating jobs for the youth is very important now a days, and due to the fact that population is growing it must be treated carefully, with severe care, and as fast as possible.
